Our
Values
Transparency
We are accountable to ourselves, our deliverables, our organization, our people, the environment, and our clients (internal and external).
Being transparent means that all the cards are on the table and there are no hidden agenda’s. We want to work with you to help you solve your wicked problems, and together we can find the best possible solutions. We want to manage the risks together and it is our belief that collaborating with us will help you mitigate, address and evaluate those risks and explore the potential gains you could achieve by being willing to be innovative vs being risk adverse.
To support this approach - confidentiality is highly valued and maintained to protect your organizations assets and reputation. You can trust in us.
Innovation
As stated by Einstein “We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them”. As such here at Circino Consulting we work with you and your teams to explore problems through the methodologies of LEAN, Design Thinking, and Appreciative Inquiry (AI). Together we believe the answers are within reach, but it often means challenging the “Status Quo”.
Partnership
The research about the benefits of great teamwork and collaboration is available to us in abundance. High performing organizations are often characterized by their excellent performing people. But how do we cultivate people and teams to be the best they can be and deliver on this excellent performance - for themselves and vicariously for their organization?
Circino Consulting can help to explore how your organization can tap into the rich resources of your teams and people. We can help with team building, strategic planning, and 1:1 coaching, strengthening relationships with internal and external partners
Respect
We value each person from varied backgrounds and every walk of life. At Circino Consulting we are considerate of those that have come before and the traditional lands and territories we work and live on. We are mindful of our settler mindset not only within the Canadian context but much more globally. Further to this we “walk the talk” by actively exploring how we can support the work of equity, diversity and inclusion as well as anti-discrimination in all that we do and with whom we connect.
Trust
Trust is a foundational pillar of a good functioning team and organization. We will earn your trust, keep it and nurture it. We understand to trust is easily lost and as such our people and processes ensure you can and will always be able to rely on us for fair and equitable services focused on your success. In turn we hope you will trust in us to “do our best” and always show up with a good heart, mind and intent.
OUR PEOPLE
Our team of professionals is confident that we can solve every problem in partnership.
Mark Goudsblom BScN, MSH, MA, PhD Candidate-ABD
Founder/CEO & Lead Consultant
Hi there,
My name is Mark Goudsblom, and I am the founder and CEO, as well as the lead consultant, at Circino Consulting. I am a Canadian originally from the Netherlands. I consider myself a continuous learner and am always curious about the world around me. My personal goal is to “have a meaningful impact on the world and contribute to a sustainable, healthy future for all”.
I completed my Nursing degree through the University of Victoria (BC) and a Master's in Health Studies and Leadership through Athabasca University (AB). After 10 years of senior clinical leadership experience in British Columbia's Healthcare sector, I transitioned to the Post-Secondary sector. During my time working in post-secondary education, I completed a Master of Arts in Global Leadership. I pursued additional learning opportunities and certifications in strategic planning, project management, construction procurement, construction law, facilities management, and sustainability. I am also a certified Lean Green Belt and apply Lean principles and processes across project work and construction. Furthermore, I use Design Thinking, Appreciative Inquiry (AI), and other creative methods to continually improve our processes and work.
For the last nearly 10 years, I have been focused on the impact that the built environment has on people in what they do and experience, not only in the delivery of core business/organizational functions, but also on the importance of the built environment and its relationship with the health and well-being of its occupants. An excellent opportunity to apply my prior healthcare experience to the design, construction, and management of the built environment. After those years in post-secondary, I returned to healthcare to support the Provincial Health Services (PHSA) in their deep decarbonization work and by leading the development of strategies and plans to reduce its operational carbon footprint - in a way, it was like coming full circle. As I look to the future, I am motivated to deepen my understanding of governance structures in public-sector decision-making. I am pursuing my PhD in Sustainability Management at the University of Waterloo (ON). You can read more about the University of Waterloo - School of Environment and Economic Development SEED. Where I have the opportunity to support research, teaching, and curriculum design, I am also looking to expand my consulting work to help organizations that may not have the resources or structures to support permanent roles in organizational optimization and design, sustainability management or environmental sustainability to get ahead and become leaders in this space.
I hope this introduction fuels your interest in engaging with Circino Consulting, and I look forward to hearing more about you and your organization.
